Q: how do i reset the oil change reminder on a 2004 chevrolet colorado pickup?
it’s the base truck
A: Your owners manuel should tell you. Look under maintenance. My cars have had the little digital window display…with an info button and a reset button….I have to push for like 10 seconds to enter a setup mode of sorts…yours prob does the same thing, but then my car is a honda….Do youhave the digital display being a base model? it is worth trying.
Look in the book….Sometimes if you just go to the dealer’s repair dept…they will just do it for free, it is worth asking.
Q: Top Speed of 2004 Chevrolet Colorado Quad Cab 4 Door?
can’t find it on google any ideas?
A: computer limits it to 100…a performance chip can remove that, but you’ll break something going any faster unless a lot of things are motified/completely replaced.
Q: 2004 chevrolet colorado Z71/ automatic transmission. Giving me trouble shifting gears in the mornings or cold.?
my truck was giving me a hard time shifting out of park, i got it to shift all the way down to 3rd, but the only gears was the drive gears. i got it into neutral, the finally got it into reverse and it will shift all the way up, but it wasn’t finding the gears. I finally got it to switch to all gears except park. Now it stuck in reverse. The shifter will move all the way up and down freely, but it doesn’t shift gears, it’s stuck in reverse. And won’t start. It’s snowy and muddy up here too, if that helps any. So what could it be? transmission or what?
A: Check your linkage that is on the side of your tranny. Sounds like it has come loose. With it stuck in reverse, it will not start due to the neutral safety switch. You can manually shift it into park by hand, then attach shift cable back to tranny. There is a possibility also if everything is attached and tight at your tranny, then the shift cable itself is broken. That is another problem all together. Then you need a shift cable. They aren’t very expensive. I would recommend going to a parts store and getting a haynes manual for your truck. I have a link for you to check out. They are very useful and you will be amazed at how much you can actually do yourself, therefor saving $$$. Good luck.
Q: chevrolet colorado 2004?
how do i fix the power locks and the drivers side power window does not work
A: If that is the case you most likely have a short in the wiring to the drivers door, both power locks fail if either switch is disconnected and as for the power window it may be the cause. have someone check the wiring and you can open the door and jiggle the wiring in the door hinge to see if it starts to work again
Q: Is a Chevrolet Calorado good for a girl?
Its a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado 2 door.
Silverado’s are little too big for me.
A: All depends on what you are comfortable driving. My wife is 5′ and drives a Suburban. A Colorado would be a good vehicle … it has a nice tight turning radius for maneuvering around in parking lots and such. Just don’t expect to pull a 30′ camper or haul a yard of sand though.
Q: Does anyone know how to program keyless remote?
I have just bought a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado and the car lot didn’t have the key-less remotes. I have ordered one, but I also didn’t get the owners manual. I need to know how to program the remotes when they get here.
A: Sorry, but there are no shortcuts to transmitter programming for this model.
The transmitter(s) must be programmed using the TECH II scantool, and GM TIS2WEB application. This can be found at very few aftermarket shops, so the dealer is your best bet. It cannot be programmed any other way.
Hey, I dont build or design them—-I just have to service them.
Q: 04. chev. colorado air intake?
2004-2005 Chevrolet Colorado – Street Performance Cold Air Intake…..ANY INFO YOU CAN GIVE OR WHAT AIR INTAKE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND..
1.SOUNDS LOUD
2.EFFICEINCY
A: i’d recommend a k&n, they sound good.
Q: which truck is the best to pick (ford, chevy, dodge)i looked these up on car max?
2004 Ford F150 Lariat 4D Crew Cab for 16,998,
2006 Dodge Ram 1500 ST 4D Crew Cab for$17,599
2004 Chevrolet Colorado LS 4D Crew Cab for $16,599
which one?
A: For the money get that newer 2006 Ram. It’s a little more, but it’s a better truck and two model years newer.
Q: I need an auto part for this truck?
I own a Chevrolet Colorado year 2004. The muffler fell off and there’s a part that connects two pipes together
but im not sure if its the exhaust clamp. I want to be sure what its called.I tried looking for it at every auto part shops but no luck.
A: Did you just look for it at every auto part stores? or did you discuss the problem with the salesman? The salesmen will not bite nor will they laugh at you, they are there to help. Go back to the auto parts store and get your car part, you might even talk to someone there who will repair it for a reasonable price.
Q: Engine help. Cold Air Intake?
I’m looking in upgrading my 3.5L crew cab 2004 chevrolet colorado. I want my engine to have more of an aggressive tone. I already installed a flowmaster 40 series muffler on my truck and now I’m looking into cold air intake systems. Since I dont know much about this I need product suggestions and what will fit my truck. Also I need to know how it will make my truck sound better.
A: an AEM brute force or an AIRAID intake system will give you a nice sound or you could try a K&N intake too, you can find any of those at online stores like www.autoanything.com just look under the performance air intake systems section.
Q: Tradein Value (and cost of another car)?
I drive a 1999 Saturn SL1 sedan. It’s only got 32,000 miles on it and my family has always owned it (it was my grandmother’s uncle’s car, and we purchased it from his estate after he died three years ago). It’s in great shape bodywise and the transmission is fine, but the engine needed some work (it blew a head gasket and the exhaust manifold was cracked, but we stupidly paid to get it fixed) but now the car is fine. It drives fine and on KBB.com it was rated as $2200 in tradein value and $3500 under private party value.
Because I just had to put $1500 into this car, and I will be better off if I have a small truck or SUV next year as I live in Michigan and am moving 500 miles north for college, I am planning to sell my car. I am deciding to either sell it privately or to trade it in at a dealership for a decently recent (2004 or so) Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon. About how much would I be able to fetch for my car at a dealership, and about how much would an “average” truck like that cost? I don’t need any fancy gadgets or whatever…
Thanks. I put it under Fair condition on KBB. I’ll check out CG.
A: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/1996-to-2002-saturn-sedan-wagon-3.htm
KBB is just a guide, mind you. Not a set in stone value of your vehicle.
Same with Consumer Guide Auto.
Generally, somewhere between the two values, is an accurate range for yours.
Consumer Guide, for a private seller, is somewhere between 1600-1900.
KBB, when I tried it for a private sale, was 2900. I sincerely hope you didn’t take the “Excellent” value, since basically no cars meet that. As it states, less than 5% meet that criteria. Sure, your mileage is low, but I doubt it’s immaculate.
Reasonably, I’d say around $2500 for a private sale. For trade in, under 2k.
And this is based on the actual market, not the website’s inflated numbers.
For a 2004 Colorado….around 5-6k, from a dealer. Maybe around 4 from a private seller.
Q: I want a new truck…something fast..need some good input!!?
I currently have a 2004 chevy colorado sport (I-5)…20’s screens, exhaust, its pretty nice, but slow. I wanted to do one of two things.. I am doing research and want to either
1. I want to get a new truck, something new, nice and fast. Something around 25k and nothing more then 30k and make it a beast. I dont know what is out there or whats new, my buddy has a super charged chevy SS intimdator which pushes 370HP. any ideas on whats new, fast, and nice! (im a truck guy)
2.I want to finish working on my 04 chevy colorado. Maybe do a replica of this
http://www.sporttruck.com/featuredvehicles/chevy/0602st_chevrolet_colorado_ss_concept_truck/index.html or supercharge it..but I personally feel a supercharger on a I-5 wont give me the results that I want. Any ideas if I could make the 400hp monster 6.0 fit in the 04 chevy colorado crew cab??
I need some good minds with some fresh ideas here I AM OPEN TO ANYTHING TRUCK RELATED.. I want a sport / street truck. THANKS!!!
A: You got a very nice truck you just gotta pimp it out at some engine shop that has high preformance
Q: which truck?
chevrolet s10/colorado, toyota tacoma, or ford ranger?
i am talking models 2000-2004
well for the colorado the date it came out till now.
A: the Toyota then the ford
s10 is on the used cars list to avoid
the colorado is small and underpowered
Q: I actually am considering a Ford…?
I come from a Chevrolet family and I myself have a Monte Carlo. I love my car, but it’s 11 years old now with 140,000 miles. It’s at the station right now because the power steering’s going out of it. It’s been good to me as I have to it, but it’s not going to last forever.
I was looking at newer style of Monte Carlo. But my brother has a 2005 and it’s had problems with the transmission and belts on it already. Mine also seems better built than his. I was then thinking going with a small pickup–an S-10. But they stopped making them in 2004. I don’t really want to buy something that old for a new car since I’ll have it for a while. The Colorado’s are a bit bigger than I want and I certainly don’t want a Silverado, although they’re nice trucks.
I like trucks because they’re higher up than cars. I also live in the country and have to do choirs like cleaning brush and I also have to borrow someone’s elses truck or trailer to do so. I’m just about done with college so I seem to move about every year, this probably will continue for awhile. Sofas don’t fit well in a car!
I drive a F-150 at my workplace and its a nice truck. I’ve liked the Rangers ridden in. I’d consider getting a Ranger for my next vehicle. It’d be similar to my Monte Carlo in gas mileage–maybe better if I get a manual transmission.
What do you think about this? Would you see this as a betrayal? Do you have any other suggestions? I’d rather stick with an original American motor company than buy anything foreign. People in my family will most likely think I’m crazy even considering a Ford!
A: An S10 was replaced by the Colorado, they are pretty much the same size. The Colorado is the competition for the Ford Ranger; I don’t see why you say the Colorado is bigger than what you want, but you are considering the Ranger?!
Go and test drive both, and see which you like better. It sounds like the Ranger has a better reputation. I’ve only been in a Colorado once, and it wasn’t long enough to give a good evaluation. I have spent some time in a few different Rangers (pre ‘05) and I really liked them, but that doesn’t necessarily apply in this case.
Your not crazy for considering the Ford! The Toyota Tacoma is larger in size than the Ranger/Colorado. The only thing that I can think of at the moment is the Nissan Frontier and the Dodge Dakota… My company has a rental Dakota with the V8 and I don’t like it (and I’m a truck guy). It is more like a car with a bed, but it is pretty quick. I like the fullsize Dodge (I own one), but hate the Dakota.
As I said, go test drive the Ranger and Colorado and see if you do really like them!
