Q: I am looking for a wiring diagram for a 2007 chevrolet colorado truck; where can I find one?
I am tryin to install a remote starter on the truck. I have all the parts for installation, just needing the appropriate wiring diagrams.

A: Pay a visit to your local Chevrolet dealer. The service dept. will be glad to help you out as they want to make sure you don’t screw something up by getting into some pretty delicate circuits which there are lots of. In this day and age you have to know what you are doing when working on the electrcal circuits or big dollar things can just go poof and guess who pays. Sure is not warranty.

Q: Is the Chevrolet Colorado a good truck?
Im thinking of getting one. But I cant decide over the GMC Canyon or Chevrolet Colorado. What would you recomend?

A: Get the Canyon.

I was told by a State Park Superintendent who Government ordered GMC trucks because the GMCs were built with better fittings, gaskets, bushings, etc.

Otherwise, They’re the same truck.

Q: where is the fusebox located in a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Truck?

A: There are actually two-three fuse panels…one should be located under the drivers side under the dash OR it could be in the dash and you have to open the door to access it.

The other panel is under the hood usually on the drivers side in front of the strut tower.

Q: Does my truck have a Z85 suspension? It is a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado 2wd Ext. Cab. With a 4 cylinder 2.8L.?
I’m trying to buy a lowering kit for my truck, and i don’t know what it is. I apreciate any answers that you guys might send. Thank you Roof-Top.

A: What you do is get the Haynes Repair Manual for your Year and model of vehicle at Auto Zone, or another automotive repair shop. The manual will show you what and how to do the repairs.

Then if the truck comes with different suspension it will show that too. Also, get your VIN number and then go to the dealer and with the number it would show the for example the color and what came with it. I am not familiar with the Z85 suspension. But the Hanyes should tell you what you have in it.

For Your Info. The different OPTIONs for your truck. Seems the z85 was standard for the 2007 Colorado.

Q: Can a Chevrolet Colorado handle a big load?
I am interested in buying one but i need to know its towing load capacity. I am wondering if it could handle pulling a trailer with two four wheelers and two huge white ice chest filled with ice plus gear in the truck itself? Anyone with personal experience would be a great help. I am 16 and gonna be looking for my First truck so looking for something cheap and reliable that will last me a long time.

A: You should be fine with that. I’ve seen colorado’s pull 1 ton trucks without any trouble.

Q: How do you like the Chevrolet Colorado?
Im thinking about buying this truck. Preferably 06 or newer….

Any pros or cons from any owners of this vehicle.

A: My girlfriends dad has one of these,Not a bad little truck. he bought it new and it has 97xxx miles on it now, only has had to put new tires on and battery into it. as with any vehicle maintanance is the key if you take care of it this truck will treat you right.

Q: Whats wrong with the electronic locks on my truck?
I have a chevrolet colorado truck. the electronic locks stopped working, then started again, then stopped again. It is not the clicker – it works and arms the alarm. The locks are supposed to engage when I shift into drive.. but when its not working it doesn’t do that either. When its not working – the drivers window also does not work – but all the rest do (from the drivers control side). Whats going on? I tried the button that tells the truck if the door is closed or not.. it is working fine.
Yes it is a crew cab. It did start working the other day after I put groceries in the back seat. Today however, it quit working again and I hadn’t touched the doors. I’ve tried messing with those back doors. Maybe I should try and isolate it back there..
I’m going out to check the lock switches on the back doors.. brb :P
Cant tell. Sometime between when I parked it 2hrs ago and now it has decided to work again. Next time it quits I will try messing with the back door locks.

A: Sounds like the switch is messed up inside the door. I’d take it back to the dealership.

Q: Chevrolet Colorado or Toyota Tacoma?
My husband is looking into trading his old vehicle in for that cash for clunkers program and get a new truck to drive to work. He travels about 90 miles a day. He is undecisive about getting a Chevrolet Colorado or a Toyota Tacoma and would love to hear from your personal experiences or what you know about any of these trucks.

A: cant go wrong with the tacoma…one of my old co-worker had a 06′ colorado and has had many problems with it…mainly electrical…so i suggest staying away from that…

Q: how do i reset the oil change reminder on a 2004 chevrolet colorado pickup?
it’s the base truck

A: Your owners manuel should tell you. Look under maintenance. My cars have had the little digital window display…with an info button and a reset button….I have to push for like 10 seconds to enter a setup mode of sorts…yours prob does the same thing, but then my car is a honda….Do youhave the digital display being a base model? it is worth trying.

Look in the book….Sometimes if you just go to the dealer’s repair dept…they will just do it for free, it is worth asking.

Q: Chevrolet Colorado vs. Toyota Tacoma?
I’m about to finance a new truck. I’ve considered a Toyota Tacoma 6cyl. with 236 hp. vs Chevrolet Colorado 5 cyl. with (242 hp) or the Chevy Colorado with a V8 coming out in 2009 with a 300hp 5.7

Which do you think? The colorado seems to be the most powerful but the Tacoma is bigger and would probably be more comfortable.

Please no “Ford Ranger” answers cause I have one and it sucks.

A: consumer reports, motor trend (truck trend), car and driver have all rated the tacoma MUCH better than the colorado for drive, comfort, off road ability and everything… CR and JD Powers rates the tacoma better for reliability by a long shot as the colorado is the lowest rated compact truck onthe market in that regard.

but for my money, i’d check out the nissan frontier. better off raod than the tacoma (by virtue of front and rear lockers, not just rear), available 6 speed in every configuration, 270 hp with the v-6. and depending on which place you ask it’s either right in front of or right behind the toyota in overall drive and reliability. plus, with discounts it’s 4-6K cheaper for the same features as the tacoma… which is WAY overpriced.

Q: Should I buy this chevrolet colorado?
Alright, I’m buying a new mini truck.
I’ll be using it as my main vehicle and will be towing jetskis rarely.
I was wondering if I should get this 2009 Chevrolet Colorado that I found.
Its only 17k, but is an Extended Cab LT and only has 2500 miles, but is only equipped with the lesser I4 engine.
The I4 Engine produces 185 hp, 190 lbs of torque.
I could purchase a I5 engine Colorado that produces aroung 242 hp and 242 lbs of towing.
But I would be more in the 20,000 – 24,000 price range even for used with that low of mileage.
I was wondering if the 17k colly was such a good deal I should get it or would I rather have a more powerful pickup with roughly the same fuel economy but a little bit more coin. Thanks for the help!

A: I would look for another pickup. The 2010 Auto Reliability of the 4-wheel-drive Chevrolet Colorado is 0.69 (a rahter low D) over a 5-year data history. So, it may be very expensive to maintain.

Q: What is the most fuel efficient pickup truck?
For a 4 cylinder model, is it a…

Late 80’s/early 90’s Toyota pickup?
Toyota Tacoma?
Nissan Frontier?
Ford Ranger?
Chevrolet S-10?
Chevrolet Colorado?
Mitsubishi Mighty Max?
Isuzu Hombre?
Mazda B-series?

What gets the best MPG?
Yet, what’s the longest lasting with least amount of problems as well?

A: Probably the S10…. weighs less, lasts a long time

The colorado is just a fancier S10 (more money)
Ford rangers suck
Frontiers are heavy as hell, not good on gas
Tacomas are also heavy, but last forever
The last 3 are just plain crap, through and through
Nothing late 80’s early 90’s is good on gas

A: Not sure about the other trucks, but (fuel injected) Mazda B2200’s average about 25mpg. Some people manage to get more than that.

Q: Chevrolet Colorado vs Nissan Hardbody?
Am looking into one of theses but I want some opinion first. What do u think about theses cars? I thought that if I had the Colorado I would try to get the 5 cyl version and a single cab (I love the sound and dont mind if it takes a little more gas and has a little less power than a 6 cyl.) If it was the Hardbody it would be a king cab and would get a SR20DET swap done. Am not into offroading and i’ll definitely lower the truck a bit. So what do u think? Which is better and why?

A: From a parts point of view, stay away from the Colorado. They are not only expensive on parts, but reather a maintenance nightmare.Stick with the Nissan or Toyota.Even Ford’s make better quality pick up models, compared to the Colorado.

Q: 2006 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab – Audio System.?
Alright, I have NO car audio experience whatsoever. I simply know about guitar amps, and nothing else. So I know I’m about to sound like a moron.

I drive the colorado desribed above, and I’m currently shopping for the best options for a stereo upgrade. In order to get a subwoofer, I need to either install it underneath the back bench, or right behind the centre console. I found a great option for the bench box – http://www.soundoffaudio.com/item.cfm/id/2177 and now I need to choose a sub (the unit fits two 8 inch woofers). At the moment, all of my gear is factory. Both 6-3/4″ speakers as well as the mini tweeters in front, plus the factory piece of crap CD receiver. I’m assuming the head is RCA inputs. For my truck, will I need to purchase an amplifier in order to use the two subs? Eventually everything will be replaced, but I’m not sure which to replace first – the deck, speakers, or get the subs installed. The deck will need to be replaced with the custom piece for the GM models post year 2000.

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks, guys!

-J.

A: if you are going to get the subs you will need an amp to power them, im not sure on the stock cd player if it has the rca hookups or not, you may be able to look in the manual or something to check that out. i personally (in my chevy truck) i got the cd player changed first, and then i got my sub and amp and then went with different speakers, but the order would be up to you. however it would suck if you bought the sub and amp and got it all ready and then ended up not having rca hookups in your stock stereo. a good place to check out for car equipment would be crutchfield.com they often run sales on subs and they have a live chat you can talk to an advisor who will help you pick out your system to what you are looking for.
