Q: How do you install Front Wheel Bearings on a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Truck 2wd.?
the bearings are now included in an enclosed hub – called hub bearings. its different than it was on older trucks. the bearings are actually enclosed.

A: Jack truck up, place on jack stands,
Remove wheel, and brake caliper (no need to take brake line off, use a block to sit caliper on, or a clothes hanger to hang caliper with so force aint on the line.

Look at your rotor, pop the grease cap off the center with a flat blade screw driver..

Remove cotter pin with screwdriver and plairs, take off castle nut and large washer off.

Pull rotor out then push back in.. That will wiggle the outter wheel bearing so you can grab it, remove that bearing

Now pull rotor off.

On the back side of rotor you will see the seal, pop it out with a flat blade.

Now lift out the winner wheel bearing.

Check the bearing races (inside hub) if any signs of wear replace them (drive out with large punch and drive new ones in with race/seal/bearing driver tool)

Pack new inner bearing with grease, install in rotor, put new seal in,

Put rotor back on

Pack outter bearing and put in rotor

Put washer, castle nut nut back on.

Tighten nut untill you can’t turn rotor any, then back off the nut 1/2 turn to 5/8 turn..

Put cotter pin back in it, fill with grease, and pop cap back on.

Put caliper on,

Install wheel

A: just pull…there is nothing special to it. They just snap in.

I can’t find my book that came with the truck and have been unable to find the info online. I just need to know what size they are. I am guessing to sets of 4X6 speakers but am not sure. Can anyone find the specs online?

A: check www.crutchfield.com if you go to car speakers and select your truck it will say what fits and where.

Q: Bad Quality Sound When I Plug My IPod Nano Into AUX Input In 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Truck?
The quality is alot less vrs a CD. I am using the factory installed AUX input jack in my factory stereo and a Griffin TuneFlex. It plugs into my 12 volt lighter plug, then a cable from there to the AUX on my stereo. My IPod snaps into the Griffin TuneFlex. Any ideas on why the sound quality is so bad? Thanks for any help.

See how it sounds without the Griffin- just patch the iPod to the AUX input and run it on its own batteries. Let the iPod sit in a cupholder. Start with iPod volume low and increase until it sounds right.

A: Yes they are good trucks and they are really simple to fix when they break down. All vehicles break down though so don’t let anyone on here try to fool you by saying that some kind of vehicle does not. Hope I have been helpful.

I have a 1995 chevy z71 when you put it into 4 wheel drive it makes a loud grinding noise.

A: It may just need some transfer case grease.

A: WT, LT, and LTZ are different trim levels.

WT ( work truck) is the base trim.
LT is a higher trim level.
LTZ is the top trim with leather, power this, power that….

1500 = 1/2 ton
2500 = 3/4 ton
3500 = 1 ton

They tell you the payload.

They originally indicated the maximum payload of the vehicle, however modern pickups can typically carry far more than that.

The Tundra and the Silverado 1500 are excellent 1/2 trucks. I would suggest you drive both. The truck market is more competitive than ever. People tell you “Toyota can’t make a real truck” or “American trucks are made like crap” are fanboys. I’ve driven every truck on the market. They’re all impressive and have tons to offer.

A: Cam shaft you will need to go with something that the fuel management system can be compatible, usually one from GM Performance, BUT I would go with a programmer since it would be cheaper and easier to do, with about the same results, the exhaust go with a 2.5″ cat back and don’t forget a cold air intake, I like AFE

My 2000 chevrolet silverado (5.3 L v8 engine) will not start on the first time. but on the secound turn of the key, it will start fine. when its REALLY hot outside, it will start right up on the first try. also, while it is running, when i press the accelerator down i lose speed and my RPM’s do not go up at all. it only does this sometimes. and it cut off on me once in a parking lot. but then cranked back up. i think i need to replace the fuel filter…?

A: yes you can buy a 4 door crew cab, full size bed silverado. they arent very popular with normal people because since there is a full size box and a crew cab, the overall length is about 2-4 ft too long and does not fit into a standard garage

A: The truck with a back seat but not four doors is called an extended cab. It is available in 1500, 2500 and 3500.
