Q: What is the difference between fuel sending units for the engine VIN z and w on a 1993 Chevy S-10 Blazer?
I have a 1993 S-10 Blazer 4.3L V6 Vortex and was wondering if theres a difference between the two.

A: w is computer controlled which trigger check engine light and displays code for that sensor vin z will display code for fuel system failure

Q: What relay controls the wiper on a 1993 Chevy S-10 pickup?
I have a 1993 Chevy S-10 Pickup (2wd) and the wipers won’t park and they only have one speed. Replacing the wiper motor didn’t fix the problem and the fuse is okay. I’ve been told that the relay would be the problem, but I can’t find a relay that works specifically for the wipers? Does anyone know if there is a wiper relay and if so, where is it located?
The wiper motor was purchased from AutoZone. I guess it’s technically refurbished, but not from a junk yard.
Sorry guys, I forgot to mention that the switch has been replaced as well. That didn’t take care of it.

A: There is no wiper relay on that vehicle. Assuming you have replaced the wiper motor and switch with good parts and have replaced the control module (cover on the motor) if it has one, all you have left to cause this is a wiring problem. You’ll need a schematic for your wiper system and a test light or multimeter. Check each circuit for continuity.

Q: I have a 1993 Chevy S-10 pick up. It sounds like I have a hole in the exhaust but guy at midas says no?
It only makes the noise for the most part when in drive or reverse and idling. When in Neutral or Park no noise. Also it seems to be running a bit sluggish. Any advice?

A: Sounds like an exhaust leak, but have you looked at the manifolds? It might be leaking there.

Q: Ok so my friend is considering buying a used 1993 Chevy S-10. Will 1993 blazer hood and fenders fit this?
This S-10 has Severe body rust. The box is being replaced. So are the rockers and cab corners. Both front Quarter panels need replacing, so if we can’t find a good set of used ones will a set off a 94′ Blazer fit this?

A: Yep, same body style.

Q: where can i find a shell for a 1993 chevy S-10 Blazer 2 door?
ANY advice would help, the one i have is rotting off the frame.
has a 4.3 vortec motor.

A: did u try e-bay?

Q: What is the CFI @ 0 static preasure on a stock clutch fan on an 1993 chevy s 10 blazer 4×4 with ac?

A: Do you mean cfm? and why do you think you need to know this? The air flow will change with rpm.Hold a pitot tube behind the fan and get a number yourself.

Q: i got a 1993 chevy s-10?
i got a 1993 chevy s-10 with the 2.8 v6 and 5 speed 2 wheel drive i would like to now what kind of transmission is it if it a t5 or what it is

A: According to

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_S-10

It should be a T5

Q: I was wondering if anyone had any idea how much money I could get for a 1993 Chevy S-10 pick up truck.?
The truck has some rust on the sides but it still has under 60,000 miles. I was given some offers from friends, but I’m pretty sure I could get more because of the mileage. Let me know if you have any ideas because I don’t even know where to start.

A: Check Ebay Motors. See what other similar trucks are going for. If there are no S-10, check for the GMC S-15, their the same thing. I wouldn’t hope for much, the S-10 wasn’t ever a high dollar reseller

Q: i have a 1993 chevy s-10 with a 2.8l motor..will not start after driving a short distance?
i can start in fine the first time but after i drive and the motor gets hot it will not crank..i can get it to crank if i spray starting fluid in the throttle body…any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks, bryan

A: I thought Dogeman was the expert. The ignition module controls the spark and injector on your vehicle. You have a problem with the fuel system, not the module. If you can start the car with starting fluid( which bypasses the fuel pump) and it starts, that means the car has spark. Whena module fails, it kills the injector and the spark of the car, so if it was bad, it still wouldn’t start with starting fluid either. Do yourself a favor, pay for a proper diagnosis from a ASE certified tech and have it fixed right the 1st time. Good luck

Q: 1993 chevy s-10 clutch problems?
I have a 1993 chevy s10 pickup 2.8 v6 that im having clutch problems with. it does not want to go in gear. I have put a new clutch master cylinder, new clutch slave cylinder, and bleed it and still it doesnt want to go into gear.i know for sure it isnt the clutch because when it is off, and in first gear, i try turning it on and it wants to run off so it is grabbing. Have any ideas?????

A: If sure pressure plate is good, and throw out bearing is engaging on the fingers of pressure plate, then air is trapped in hydraulic line, some system are hard to bleed.Vacuum bleed, pressure bleed…..keep bleeding until have good clutch pedal.

Q: every time i start my 1993 chevy s-10 it blows blue smoke……why??????

A: Blue smoke is a classic sign of burning oil. If it only at start up it is usually a sign of worn valve guides.
Do a wet/dry compression test to check your ring condition.

Q: 1993 chevy s-10 fuel problems?
when my1993 s-10 warms up and i cut it off it will not start back..for some reason the fuel is not pumping when it is warm…it will not cut off riding down the road..only when trying to restart when warm do i have a problem……i have replaced the fuel pump, the complete throttle body, mapp sensor, pick-up coil, ignition coil, all fuel filters temperature sensor and various others…any ideas would be greatly appreciated..ps…i was going to change oth the ecm or ecu next…could this be the problem

A: You didn’t say what engine and fuel system you have. It would also help to know what you mean by the fuel not pumping. Have you checked the fuel pressure with a guage while cranking especially when it will not start. I think you need to start over in your diagnosis. Get the truck in the no start condition and find out what you have and do not have.
You need fuel at the correct pressure, spark at the proper time and strong enough, and compression. For instance: if you have a 4.3 Liter engine with CFI injection you will need at least 55 psi fuel pressure durng cranking or you will not start. If yours is TBI injected you must achieve 13 psi or you will have start problems.

Q: 1993 chevy s-10 blazer obd code 32 egr valve?
gave me a 32 obd code. did not want to idle or accelerate very rough idle. then went away like it never happened. now after 4 days its back and now wont even start. is it egr valve or map sensor and how can i check the COMPONENTS individually, also thought if it failed it failed once and never worked again? please help i never seen anything like this

A: The EGR valve gets a piece of carbon stuck in it and the engine will lose all vacuum and set the 32 code because the computer expects to see the EGR valve at 0%.The best thing to do is remove the upper intake manifold, get an old piece of speedometer cable(about 15 inches),put it in a drill, stick it down in the egr ports to spin around a few seconds to knock the carbon loose. The upper half can be cleaned with a screwdriver just around the holes.Clean the EGR holes with a small screwdriver and lubricate the pintle shaft with some penetrating fluid.Work the pintle up and down with the fluid on it.Put it all back together.Put some Chevron Techron in your gas tank.It will loosen up the rest of the carbon in the intake. The EGR will get stuck more till all the carbon is worked out.To start the engine, put the throttle on the floor and crank the engine. It has to overcome the vacuum loss and will eventually start. If it won’t start you’ll have to remove the egr and get the carbon out first.

Q: 1993 Chevy S-10 Pickup, 4.3 motor, 174,000 miles, stock oil pressure gauge reads 20 lbs. with fresh oil change
Running 5w-30 now, only had truck for 3,000 miles and oil pressure gauge has always fluctuated…..either sticks at 40 or gets pinned to top with acceleration. Now changed to thinner oil, pressure gauge reads 20 lbs, just barely, and rises to 40 lbs. when accelorating. Is the gauge messed up? Perhaps the oil pump is weak or on its way out? How tough is it to change the oil pump? Truck runs great otherwise. Thanks in advance.

A: I like how people always suggest to “dump” a vehicle instead of giving you an answer. If you wanted to dump it you wouldn’t be here asking how to fix it. And you probably bought it because you like it and it was what you could afford.

At any rate let me try to help you. First off it sounds like either your gage or the oil pressure sending unit is malfunctioning. You could replace the oil pressure sending unit and see if that corrects the problem. However this is not an easy task on the 4.3 liter. It is in the very back of the engine and very difficult to get something on it to change it. They do make an oil pressure sending unit socket to make it easier to change one.

Now let’s say the oil pressure reading is 20 psi at idle and rises to 40 on acceleration. I wouldn’t call this a terrible reading if it was accurate. I looked at the specification on AllData and their minimum specification is 24 PSI at 4000 rpm. And 18 PSI at 2000 rpm.

I would have to agree with them. As long as you have good flow then 20 PSI at idle and 40 on acceleration is not all that bad.

Enjoy your truck. I like S10 pickups

Q: will a 3.1 or 3.4 liter chevy engine connect to to a transmission from a 2.8 liter engine in a 1993 chevy s-10

A: it should, but the 3.1 and 3.4 are front wheel drive engines you s-10 is rear wheel drive
