Q: 2001 Chevy S-10 Gas Millage?
There is a 2001 Chevy S-10 for sale for an awesome price but I am worried about the gas millage. I have researched it and read reviews and most are showing 20+ gas millage for city and around 28 highway. Lowest for city is around 18.

However, a couple reviews complain about getting only 10 mpg. If I can remember correctly, these were both crew cab trims. Do the crew cabs get only like 10 mpg while the regular and extended cab / bed trims get the 20+?
I actually don’t know much about the truck. I haven’t looked at it yet but I was told about it and my friend is hooking me up with a family member of his who just wants to get rid of it cause he bought a bigger truck. I was just told today but need a car soon so I’m doing all my research now. It will probably be the v6.

Q: 1999 Chevy S-10 short bed pickup – what problems are they rumored to have?
My neighbor has one for sale and it appears to be in excellent shape.
Is there anything specific I should check out with an S-10?
Also, it has 3,800 miles – not a typo – 3,800 miles.
Blue book is around $3400ish, very possibly higher, what should I offer him?
Blue book tends to be on the high end of the price ranges, right?
He’s an older fellow who only moves it every few days to avoid getting parking tickets so it likely hasn’t been driven hard in its short life.

A: Nothing is wrong with it. But, in the long run, intake manifold gaskets, idler arm, pitarm and outer/inner tie rods go out on them. Wheel bearings, fuel pumps….and speaking of fuel pumps, the vehicle is 10 years old and is barely driven, i’d would have the fuel filter replaced. Gasoline gums up after about a year or so. Also causes the pump to sieze up and clogs injectors.

I had a customer in the shop a weeks ago, she’s a regular customer. She drives a chevy cavalier but barely drives it, i believe its a 2002 or 2003. Last year i replaced the fuel pump, pump siezed. Few weeks ago, had to replace it again along with the fuel filter, completely clogged, later on that day, removed all injectors, and 2 of the 4 injectors were completely clogged. So its always good to drive the vehicle or atleast put some kind of additive in the gasoline to prevent it from damaging other components.

Q: Minor Vehicle Ownership In Kentucky?
My dad bought me my first car after I got my license and my hobby, well more my passion is just to get “technical” with things. Right now all I’ve done has been sitting on the sidelines handing my dad wrenchs. He gets very upset when I try to work on it.
Anyway the car I have is built on the same plat-form that the Chevy S-10’s are. Which oddly enough the is a near same year S-10 for sale for 800 dollars. I want this truck just so I can tinker with and not worry about spending all my money on. I want to step-notch the frame and slam it, do a little body work, but my dad gets mad to the point we about fight because I have a car. I can’t touch anything but the steering wheel and gas pedal.
All I want to do is buy the truck and work on it at home. I don’t need insurance on the truck because I won’t be driving it anytime soon. I just want the title, in my name, because I can’t get a co-signer. I don’t think I should need one. Any opinions?

A: If you’re a minor and you aren’t emancipated, you can’t own property in your own name. Period. Either try to convince him to let you experiment a little (perhaps by assuring him that you will be safe and know what you’re doing) or wait till you turn 18 and then you can buy a car of your own.

Q: Does anyone out there have a used Brake Buddy system for towing purposes for sale?
Would like to know if anyone has a used one for sale. Any ex-RVer’s know what I am talking about. Also looking for a driveshaft disconnect coupling for a 2001 Chevy S-10 4X4.

Q: I have a truck for sale, no takers, you know anyone who wants to buy?
Its a 1996 chevy s-10. The a/c doesnt work(needs new compressor) I think its needs a new starter. Has 177,000 mile son it but the engine was rebuilt at 55,000 so actually only 122,000 on this engine. Little rust. Kelly blue book has it listed at 2500. Anyone need a reliable truck?

Q: all terrain tires for my truck?
im looking for some good used or new all terrain tires for my 89 chevy blazer s-10… im really mad cause i went mudding on some street tires and got stuck up to my doors in mud… the specs on my tires are
P235/75R/15… i know the last two numbers matter but i want wider tires like about 235 to 265.. if anyone know where i can get any or has some for sale hit me up at 770 -757 -4382…. if you call ask for troy

A: You can probably fit 31 inch tires on this vehicle but they may rub and or decrease the area between the tire and the fender well. You can try 30.9″ tires or just get 235/75/15 mud tires. Give tirerack a try. Best of luck.
