Q: What should I do about my Chevy S-10 truck? I am not sure if the transmission went out or not.?
This morning I was driving my 1999 Chevy S-10 pickup and I stopped for a red light. After stopping I put my foot on the gas and the vehicle would not go forward. I tried drive, reverse, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The vehicle would not engage in any gear. When I got out of the truck the entire road was covered in transmission fluid. Where do I begin? Does this mean the transmission went out? Could it just be a busted line?

A: first things first check all ur lines seals and the tranny for any cracks busted lines ,or seals usually if a tranny goes u will feel it slippin or shifting hard or many other anoying things but from what u siad i don’t think u damaged it but be on the safe side if it is something simple still have it checked out a couple hundred is better than a couple thousand. good luck

Q: 2000 chevy S-10 truck ran perfect until I had my oil changed?
2000 chevy S-10 truck ran perfect until I had my oil changed last week come to find out they put 5W30 oil in it and I had been using 10W40 now my oil pressure is around 20 psi even when I go down the highway at 60 miles per hour what could have happen in 2 days since the oil change and what can I do to fix it?

A: 5w30 oil is thinner and will lubricate faster chances r u did no motor damage change to right oil then see what happens

Q: What is wrong with Chevy S 10 truck there are no signal lights?
My husband put in a flasher and replaced the fuses, the bulbs are all good. The tail lights work, he just can’t fiqure it out!

A: If the fuses did not blow out after you replaced it and the bulbs are new, then it’s most likely the turn signal switch.

A: check your connections real good,they may be loose or dirty ,you also may have a bad starter on it,starters will go bad instantly and without warning,so this might be something you want to check if it don’t try to crank over at all,good luck on it.

A: yes but you have to go to the dealer or call them to ask for the parts!

Q: I went to start my truck (chevy s-10) then put in drive and would not go forward or reverse?
When I started the truck it sounded like something was loose and hitting another part. Then I went to put it in drive and the truck would not go forward or reverse.
It will shift but it doesn’t feel like it is catching a gear. No jerk when shifting in gear like normal.

A: sounds like you lose your bolts to the converter from the fly wheel

Q: On a 1994 Chevy S-10 pickup truck, which fuse does the airbag use?
I need to replace the heater core in my ‘94 Chevy S-10, so I have to first take apart the dashboard. To avoid activating the airbag, the Haynes manual recommends removing the fuse, but there doesn’t appear to be a fuse specifically for the airbag. Any advice would be appreciated.

A: pull all fuses20 amps or above :O)

There is a cog inside the truck that the brakes touch and it goes “click-click-click” but its not, how do you replace that cog?

A: Don’t think you have to replace the cog. Check that the spring is attached. May be broken or has dislodged.

Remove the parking brake assemble & inspect. If you can not find the location of the spring, you may want to purchase a Chilton’s or Haynes Service Manual.

Q: How do I change the ignition coil pack on a 99 Chevy S-10 truck?
Have a Hanes manual and it’s not helping…following the spark plug wires and still can’t locate the old one…anyone have any suggestions or places on the web that can help me out?
Autozone was the one who told us to follow the spark plug wires AND sold us the wrong pack… Also, 2.2 engines don’t have a distributor…

A: if its a 4×4 4.3 you need to drop the exhaust by the starter. dont remove it just seperate it

Q: Why does my 1985 Chevy S-10 pickup truck shut down while driving down the road?
Changed fuel pump, fuel relay, computer, module in distributor, gas cap, and it still shuts down while driving down the road. If I let it sit for a while, it will start back up only to do it again in a short distance!

A: The carburetor needs to be rebuilt with a new float and new accelerator pump plunger.When the float sinks fuel spills into the intake manifold creating a rich condition and the engine will stall.
All cracked and leaking vacuum lines should be repaired or replaced.

Q: How do you reset the service engine light on a 2000 chevy s-10 pickup truck?
We just replaced the alternator and the light will not shut off.

A: The lights not on because of the alternator. Get the code out of the system and fix the problem, the light will go off by itself after the “drive cycle” for whatever problem is present runs.

Bottom line fix it.

Non A/C S-10, installing heater core and just wanted easiest way to do it. Pull steering column? Just any hints…

my gas gauge dosent work also it moves up and down?

A: fuel gauge and fuel pump are part of same unit…check pump relay….wireing,,,just hope u dont need pump/gauge sending unit…part is 300 dollars and u need to drop tank or remove/move bed to get at it…i use my odometer bcause im too cheap to fix mine

Q: Is there a fuel pump gasket on a 97 Chevy S-10 truck?

A: no the only gasket will be around the top of the sending unit where the unit goes in to the tank ,no gaskets on the pump though,good luck.
