A: Dont buy them, your getting ripped. Your truck, parts are a dime a dozen, even from manufacters. If your truck has a 283, 305, 350, 383, or even a 400 (any small block) and is 2 wheel or even 4×4 your headers will run 65.00 dollars or less from summitt racing. bombs will kick such great soundwith 3″ exhaust. (little trick put the cherrys on backwords and they flow even better and louder)

A: I love Chevy trucks myself, but Rogue is right in saying that they’re gas-guzzlers.
If you want anything that runs and doesn’t have too much wrong with besides a bit of rust and a bunch of miles you’re probably looking at at least $1000, and that’s on the cheap end of things. If you’re into fixing things up you can probably find them for a bit cheaper, but then you have to factor in the cost of repairs.
Definitely look on Craigslist (www.craigslist.com). Make sure to test drive anything before you decide to buy it. Some people know how to make a piece of junk sound really good.

I have an 05 Chevy Silverado with 42000 miles on it, the tires are shot. The truck is used for pulling a boat on weekends and a trailer to haul wood in the winter. The tires have been rotated at 20K because the front tires were wearing quicker then the rear tires. I had it in for inspection and the front tires are almost to the threads on the inside only in the front any guess as to what may be causing it?
I bought the truck new, the tires are not wearing even only on the insides, I never even noticed it until I took it in for inspecton. However I have felt something in the steering when I go around turns especially.
A: Maybe front end out of alignment That will be a good place to start, hope this helps.

A: Well both are better but the choice varies on preference. If you are interested in having more safety features and rough and tough attitude of trucks Colorado is always a better choice. At the same time if you are looking at fuel efficiency and a classy touched expensive stuff you should select the Avalanche. Choice is yours, preference of yours, All the best.

A: Actually, GMC did have a V12 truck engine in the early 1960’s. I’m not sure of the years produced but these engines were used in their big GMC trucks. You can find truck mechanics that will swear that GMC have never made these engines.
If you want you can GOOGLE “GMC V12″. And the Blastolene B702 does use one of these motors.

A: Look in your phone book for your nearest Pick-A-Part or Pull-A-Part junk yard, call & see what they have. They you & your buddies just go down & get it off the truck.

A: I own a shop, and what I would do is; call a local junkyard, and they can find you many of them. Try to get one with the least amount of miles on it. They will find you plenty of them. You can also run an add in the local Iwanna paper, and find one that way too. It would be better if you could find one that you can go hear run, or you are buying a pig in a poke. Most junkyards will give you a 60-90 day warranty on used engines.

I’m getting rid of my Honda CRV and getting a truck but don’t know what to get. I don’t care about what people say about the truck, I want to know reliability, and what is actually the good buy. I like the Ford Dodge and Toyota but not sure about chevy. My dad has a toyota and has never had a problem with it, so the Tundra shouldn’t be different. My two friends have dodges and they really haven’t shown me anything in being reliable, but they can rip it up off road if you have the money to fix them. Ford F150 is just a good lookin truck and haven’t really heard anything about it. I’m looking for a truck that I can change in and out of 4×4 to 4×2 to save on gas but have it when I need it.
A: You should be VERY wary of the Tundra. Toyota has just recalled 110,000 Tundras resulting from frame corrosion problems, and the fact of the matter is that Toyota’s reputation is far better than the quality of its current vehicles in terms of engineering quality, reliability, and safety.
The Dodge RAM trucks are very well received. In fact, they’re seen as Chrysler’s one bright spot. However, Chrysler’s future is not in its own hands and owning the RAM truck will mean being subject to whatever FIAT has in mind, up to and including winding-down Chrysler altogether and simply replacing its vehicles with its own. There’s simply too much uncertainty in the marketplace for me to pledge my support behind something I’d have to live with for many years to come, and that’s separate and distinct from the fact that the only reason Chrysler exists is because it was bailed-out by the government, and rewarding that kind of failure is simply something I refuse to do (and so should you if you believe in being entitled to reap the rewards if you succeed).
The same goes for any GM vehicle (Chevy or GMC). GM pickups are generally considered to be “also rans”, passable vehicles, but usually ones people choose for reasons other than simply being the better vehicle.

It’s the simply the truck people turn to first.
And for the same reasons why buying Chrysler and GM presents so many problems in principle, driving a Ford is a decision you never have to justify. You’re not only supporting the American economy, you’re supporting the builder of the best vehicles at a time when it needs it most, when it is being made to compete with government-funded competitors, yet is posting profits and winning the best review for its products ever.
